Sydney (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) and a Therapist in our Psychotherapy Training Fellowship. She has experience helping individuals who struggle with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and trauma. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Intercultural Studies and a Bachelor of Social Work from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Ohio, Sydney obtained her Master of Social Work Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She enjoys working with people of all ages and is especially passionate about providing care for adolescents and young adults.

Sydney believes a trustworthy, non-judgmental relationship between therapist and client is foundational to the therapeutic process. She strives to provide the space for her clients to better understand themselves and the issues they face, while discovering new ways  to live in alignment with their values and identities. Sydney draws on an eclectic variety of approaches to address her clients’ needs, including insight oriented models like Psychodynamic Theory, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness practices.

Sydney finds joy in spending time with her family, playing in orchestras, and drinking quality coffee.

Sydney sees clients in our SW Durham and RTP offices and by Telehealth.
