Background

Josie (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) and a Psychotherapy Training Fellow at CAS. She has experience providing individual therapy to teens, college students and adults struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and family of origin issues. Josie obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Washington University in St. Louis and her Master of Social Work Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Josie has a passion for working with queer and trans folks and individuals who identify as neurodivergent.

Philosophy

Josie utilizes a psychodynamic approach in therapy, drawing from Relational-Cultural Theory and Polyvagal Theory. She is committed to sustaining an anti-racist, neurodiversity-affirming, and harm-reduction focused practice, considering clients and their challenges in the context of the various systems within which they live.

Joy

Josie finds joy in spending time in community, following her research interests down new rabbit-holes, and working with her hands, especially on knitting projects.

Jenna sees clients in our SW Durham and RTP offices and by Telehealth.
