Eliza is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS). She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of the South in Sewanee TN, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to returning to school for her Master’s degree, she conducted research with children, adolescents, and families at the Yale Child Study Center, which further shaped her desire to purse a career in clinical social work.
Eliza has experience providing individual, family and group therapy with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, life-transitions, relationship struggles, trauma, and OCD. She has worked with individuals across multiple levels of care, and most recently served as Clinical Director at Veritas Collaborative. In addition to her work as a psychotherapist, Eliza has experience providing clinical supervision to therapists and interns and is passionate about supporting the professional growth of emerging colleagues. She earned her Clinical Supervision Certification through NASW-NC, and is pursuing her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Supervisor (CEDS-S) certification.
Eliza takes an eclectic approach to treatment and believes that the therapeutic relationship is a critical component of the treatment process. She strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can flourish. She approaches therapy with a sense of curiosity to help clients explore behavior patterns, gain insight, and develop potential solutions to facilitate changes that lead to a more peaceful “meaning filled” life. Eliza recognizes the courage it takes to reach out for support and is dedicated to customizing treatment to fit the individual. She draws upon a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Based Therapy (FBT) (with adolescents), and Interpersonal Process Therapy.
Eliza finds joy in spending time with loved ones, music, traveling, animals, movement, and cheering on her favorite sports teams (Go Blue Devils!)
Eliza sees clients out of our Durham and Raleigh offices, as well as by telehealth.
