Background

Becky (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) with experience providing individual and group therapy to people struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, relationships/boundaries, body image, eating disorders, and substance use.  Becky received her Master’s in Social Work from UNC Chapel Hill.  She has experience across various levels of care, from residential treatment to outpatient therapy.  Becky has a particular interest in the relationship between eating disorders, trauma, and substance use disorders.

Philosophy

Becky believes in creating a non-judgmental, trauma-informed space where every person can come and feel safe. The client is ultimately the “expert” in their journey and Becky encourages the therapeutic relationship to be collaborative, requesting the client’s input throughout the treatment process. Becky believes each person has strengths to be, and she works individually with folks to identify what those are and how this can be facilitated to change patterns and create the life they see for themselves. Becky pulls from a variety of Evidence Based Practices, including DBT, CBT, IFS, and ACT.

Joy

Becky finds joy in music, nature, books, food, the mountains and beach, and time with family.
